秋の祭!The Fall Festival!

November 24, 2009

Recently, my friends and I went to the Orlando Japanese Festival. It was very beautiful and quite a fun experience. There was so much to see, hear, and taste; it was a lovely afternoon for the senses.

I was excited to see so many dressed in traditional Japanese clothing. Most were wearing yukata; it is the standard outfit for matsuri (festivals).
The food was amazing too! There were so many stalls serving sushi, oden, edamame, udon, curry rice… you name it, they had it! The lines wrapped around the stalls forever!
Japanese cultural has beautiful art forms wound tightly to its core. Calligraphy, music, and dance are just a few of the beautiful expressions displaying the traditions of Japan. Getting to see taiko drummers, Japanese kites, tea ceremony, and traditional dance was wonderful and enriching. Enjoy the pictures!
